Instructions on Using Your Order

What’s Inside:

Codes CSV: This is your list of assigned complete numbers with check digits. You may convert your numbers to an EAN (GTIN-13) by adding a 0 (Zero/Zed) IN FRONT of them. Please note that when using these numbers in Excel, you need to make sure the Cell Format is TEXT and NOT Number or General to get numbers to display properly that begin with a 0.

Certificate: This is your Certificate of Assignment and Ownership. It shows the GTINs you are assigned and more importantly for merchants such as Amazon, the original GS-1 Prefix Owner from which these numbers are a subset. IMPORTANT: See the Codes_ORDER#.csv document for your complete numbers with Check Digits. The Number Assignment on your Certificate is a Range and does not include the 12th check digit as that is a calculated digit that does not affect the range of the numbers. If using your numbers as an EAN (GTIN-13) you will need to add a 0 in front of the number and include the check digit as shown in your Codes_ORDER#.csv.

Graphics: These are your actual barcode graphics files for printing and packaging. There are 2 formats: Vector EPS and universal PDF (made from vector EPS). The PDF should work in any app. Note that we no longer provide raster TIF files as they take up too much space on our server and are not used anymore when the PDF is universal. If you really want TIF files, you can always request them at customercare@ezupc.com.

Your graphics files aren’t always needed, especially if you’re selling online. Many people just forward their complete order to their graphic designer or label printing company if they’re unsure what format to use.

Terms Copy: This is a copy of the Terms of Agreement you agreed to when placing your order. It describes our policies and guarantees.

How to Use Your Numbers On Amazon:

As of October 2022 Amazon and the GS1 joined forces and made a sweeping policy change equiring all sellers to get a GS1 membership in order to have the UPC codes and Seller’s Brand show in the GS1 database. If you are using the Brand Registry and/or FBA you must have a GS1 membership and cannot use third-party numbers like ours.

However, for those who are determined, in May 2023 we discovered a workaround that appears to still be effective for a large number of Sellers who use it.

Follow these instructions carefully.

Start with a brand new listing that you have not created yet. Do not try to edit an existing listing where you have previously entered a UPC code.

Enter Generic in both the Manufacturer and Brand fields when you start. Do NOT enter the UPC/EAN before you have entered Generic in both the Manufacturer and Brand fields.

Then add the UPC AFTER you have done that. DO NOT tick the box “This product does not have a brand”. If you do have a Brand, just put it in the name of the product (e.g. Phone Case by Your Brand). DO NOT put it in the Brand field.

If you get the 8572 error after following the instructions then your product category or type (such as variations) is not allowing you to use our numbers and you will have to get GS1 numbers. Remember that our 14 day refund policy is for quantities of 20 or less so please reach out as soon as you can for your refund at customercare@ezupc.com.

If It Appears Your Number Is Already In Use: You’ll get a lengthy error message in red type that says your product shares the same ASIN as another product. Please take a screen shot and email us immediately and we will provide you with new numbers if necessary. Unfortunately there are people out there that have been using numbers fraudulently for years, and it is beyond our control if they have done that. This is why Amazon has cracked down on verifying UPC Codes. We legally and contractually rightfully own all of our numbers that we legally sell to you and anyone using them who hasn’t purchased them from us is committing fraud.

EZUPC We're Your UPC Easy Button! Your most transparent, reliable source for low-cost verifiable UPC codes since 2007.
